How to get there: This is hard to find and Google and Apple maps take you to different places. From the Taconic, take 301 east for 3 miles. Turn left on Farmers Mills Rd/42. Veer left onto White Pond Rd. The parking area is just ahead next to the pond on the right.
Address to get you close: 372 White Pond Rd, Stormville, NY 12582
Summary: Head out toward the pond. Go up and over the little bridge and look at all the boating activity. Walk the sunny south side then head up into the trees. You’ll gradually climb for the first half mile then it’s a nice up and down. The trail follows the lake with views going in and out. There is one tiny, very steep section.
At about a mile, you’ll be able to get very close to the water’s edge. You’ll see a pretty cool rope swing. Swimming is “not encouraged” but this may be a fun spot if you have older kids to go for a dip.
Then head in, through a swampy, narrow path that will dump you out onto a wide trail. We lost the trail here and had to turn around but you could keep following it to the road then walk along the edge back to the car. Not a good idea if you have little walkers as there is really no shoulder.
