Summary: From the parking lot, head past the courts and through the playground–right between the two main structures. The trail starts at the treeline. Follow it around the pond and up behind the pool. You’ll follow the blue/red trail as it edges the horse farm and, if you’re lucky, get a good close view as they rest in the shade.
At about half a mile, you’ll turn left on the DH trail and onto Ward Pound Ridge Reservation property at the T intersection. Then start the climb up the hill.
At the next fork, turn right on brown at marker 40. This will be the longest uphill section.
At marker 6, brown will continue (you could keep going straight to DH and cut the hike short) but you want to make the left. Pass marker 41 and take brown downhill to where it loops back around.
You’ll come to a four-way intersection at marker 3. Hang a right and climb north on DH. Follow DH left at the next intersection marked 42.
Follow DH right at marker 5. Head back to the red/blue trail you came in on. Pass the horses, pool, and playground
