How to get there: The visitor center is located on the south side of 117 halfway between 9 and the Taconic.
Summary: From the parking lot, head toward the defunct toll house and cross the road toward the visitor center. Pick up the road behind the visitor center.
Follow the access trail down to the lake and hang a left onto Brother’s Path, following the edge of the water. As you go around the northern edge of the lake, you’ll come to a low, possibly muddy area. There are some large stones that you can walk over but this can be difficult to navigate if you’re using a stroller.
Follow Brother’s Path down the east side of the water. At the southern end, you’ll pass the Rockefeller Family Trails/RF twice.
Turn left onto Farm Meadow Trail/FM and follow it about a tenth of a mile.
Make a right on Ash Tree Loop/AS another tenth of a mile.
At the next intersection, turn right onto the Overlook Trail/OV. You’ll climb up for some nice views of the lake. The OV will end at the access trail. Turn left to take it back to the visitor center and parking lot.
