Elevation Gain: minimal
Type of Hike: loops
Trail Condition: wood chips
Wow Factor: ends in a playground
How to get there: From Route 6, head north on 52. Turn right at the light for Fair St. Left on Hill and Dale. Right on Towners Rd. Right on Park Rd and the sign for the park. Follow it down and veer right into the park. Head downhill to the second parking lot.
Address: 43 Park Road, Kent
Summary: From the parking lot, head over the bridge. The trail makes a loop on either side of the bridge.
Head down the path to the bench and turn right for the flatter, shorter loop. There are several workout stations that are very attractive for little walkers, including a balance beam and monkey bars. The path crosses a stream that is great for floating leaves when its running. This side makes a lollipop.
Come back to the first bench and head right up the little hill. At the fork head left (the right side has a downed tree as of 2/2016). Follow the loop right, along the stream. There is one section where you can get down to the waters edge.
Continue and close the loop. You’ll want to take the cut across to avoid the tree again (trail makes a 8 shape). Follow the stream’s edge back, pass the horseshoe pits, to the bridge.
Hit up the playground and covered picnic tables when you’re done.
