At Tarrywile Park

How to get there: From I84, take exit 3.  Continue on US 7 South.  Take exit 7 toward the Airport.  Left on Sugar Hollow Rd.  Left on Wooster Heights.  Right on Southern Blvd > follow it right.  Tarrywile is on the right across from Immaculate High School.

 

Summary: From the parking lot, cross the driveway entrance and head up the paved road toward the buildings.  Go around the upper lot, pass the gazebo, and cross Brushy Hill Rd.

Go around the gate and head up the gravel road for almost a quarter of a mile.

The road will bring you straight to the castle.  There is a double chain link fence surrounding it on three sides and a steep drop on the fourth.  The opening in the first fence allows you to walk the perimeter and get close views of the ivy growing beautifully and the graffiti marring the stone house.  While the second fence is ripped up, they don’t want you going in to preserve as much as possible of the site.

When you’re done, head back the way you came.
