How to get there: The parking lot is on 9D. It’s about one mile north of 301 in Cold Spring and about a mile south of the tunnel for Breakneck. It is directly across the street from Little Stony Point State Park.
Address: 3206 Bear Mountain-Beacon Hwy, Cold Spring, NY 10516
Summary:
From the parking area, head toward the kiosk. Follow the blue trail left parallel with 9D until you come to the old concrete road.
Make a right and follow the road up the hill for a little over half a mile.
Follow the road around a curve and then take the left onto the well worn dirt path.
You will see the ruins ahead of you. Carefully, walk up the steps and check it all out. Watch children on the tall drop offs and me mindful of broken bottles and litter.
If you don’t want to go up into the house, stick to the right side and it comes out at the same place on the far side. There is a ton to see if you keep walking. There are foundations and half destroyed buildings.
You’ll pick up the red trail on this side. Head right east/away from 9D and cross a little stream (careful here with little wanderers when the stream is flowing high and fast as there is a very inviting child size hole with no cover to drain under the road).
Continue uphill a little more and there is a pump house, dam, and nice waterfall. (You can make your trip longer by taking the red path uphill between the waterfall and pump house. Follow the stream until you come to a Y, then make a right on blue to come back to the main road that brought you up.)
Check it all out and when you’re done, head back. Hang a left after the stream crossing. You can go through the house again or keep it on your left. Pick up the road and make a right down hill on blue. Turn left near the bottom staying on the blue trail and go back to the parking lot.

Love this hike, such an easy trail for an interesting payoff. I think it’s best too when the leaves are down, to see the ruins better.
