How to get there: From I684, take exit 5. Follow 35 East. Right on 22. Left on 172. Right on Long Ridge Rd. Left on Upper Shad Rd. The approximately 5 car lot is on the left just before a bend in the road.
Summary: From the parking area, head onto the wide path, past the kiosk. Hang a left on orange. This section can be wet and muddy. There are strategically placed rocks in the worst areas and one part when you’re walking on top of a stone wall.
When the orange trail forks, bear right.
The two trails will come together again. Bear right to continue on to the end of orange.
At the T intersection with purple, turn left and follow it uphill.
Around one mile from the parking lot, the purple trail will split. Head left and follow the path as it winds out west and back to the highest elevation.
Follow the inside purple trail right past two forks.
Begin heading south, now following the outside of the path left at the final two forks.
Continue straight back to the parking lot
